Applications:
- Medical Devices / Life Sciences Coating implantable electronics (e.g., pacemakers, neurostimulators) to provide a biocompatible, insulating barrier. Coating catheters, surgical tools, and microfluidic / lab-on-a-chip devices to improve chemical resistance or reduce leaching. Providing lubricity (low friction) on elastomeric parts like elastomer seals, gaskets, or needle shafts.
- Electronics and MEMS / Sensors Protecting delicate sensor elements (pressure sensors, humidity sensors, MEMS) from moisture and contaminants, without adding much mass or changing performance. Insulating fine-pitch or densely packed circuit boards where conventional liquid coatings may struggle to reach under components.
- RF / antenna components: low-loss dielectric coating for antennas, or coating around conductors.
- Aerospace, Defence, Harsh Environments Coating avionics or satellite electronics: parylene gives moisture and chemical protection, plus very stable insulation even under extreme conditions.
- Harsh-environment industrial electronics: sensors, control systems, and power electronics in settings with salt, humidity, vibration, or wide temperature ranges.
- Automotive / Electric Vehicles Protecting electronics in cars: under-hood sensors, battery management systems (BMS), control electronics, where they’re exposed to oils, moisture, salt, and thermal cycles. MEMS sensors in automotive (e.g. accelerometers, pressure sensors) that need very reliable long-term protection.
- Optics, LEDs, and Displays Coating optical components (lenses, windows) with a transparent, uniform protective film to guard against moisture and chemical ingress.
Conformal Coating UK Encapsulating LEDs (especially wire bonds) to improve moisture resistance and life. - Packaging & Barrier Applications Ultra-thin barrier coatings for specialty packaging where you need to protect something from moisture or oxygen. Coating micro- or nano-structured parts (or small devices) to provide protection without significantly altering dimensions.
- Research / Nanoscale Devices Because the Labcoater Series 100 is small and lab-oriented, it may be used in academic / R&D labs to develop and test new parylene-based coatings (e.g., very thin films for experimental devices). For nano-electronics: ultra-thin parylene films (tens of nm) for use as gate dielectrics in nanowire FETs, or as insulating layers in nano-devices.
- In sensor research: for MEMS or NEMS devices, or for novel sensors (even in bio / neurochemical detection) where parylene helps with insulation or barrier protection.
