Sales Manager

Department: Sales
Job Title: Sales Manager
Reporting to: Managing Director and Sales Director
Location: Head Office/Remote

Basic Purpose

IES are looking for a proven Sales Manager to lead our already well-established, successful Sales Team. You will be involved in the day-to-day running of the Sales function as well as the people management of the team. You must be a successful sales professional who has a background of creating impressive sales and business growth through the effective deployment of business and sales strategies. This role reports directly to the Managing Director and Sales Director and will be seated with Senior Management in the business. This role covers a wide geography and is based within our Head Office and remotely visiting clients where necessary.

As a Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing sales strategies to maximise revenue and market share. You will ensure strong client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and ensure the successful delivery of IES offering.

It is imperative that you are able to quickly assimilate the dynamic of the Company to maximise both sales and business performance.

Key Tasks

  • Develop strong relationships

  • Follow-up leads in a timely manner

  • Close orders within the required timeframe

  • Provide leadership, motivation, and guidance to team members

  • Develop strong relationships at Key Accounts and meet or exceed the annual sales targets

  • Learn any unknown outstanding specialism areas within a set timeframe

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve company goals

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking and market research 

  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure the seamless execution of projects

  • Prepare and present compelling proposals to potential clients

  • Achieve and exceed sales targets through effective lead generation and conversion

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a sales team

  • Attend and carry out site surveys providing technical advice

  • Ensure IES CRM systems are kept up to date and used correctly by the team

  • May be required to complete other business activities on behalf of the company from time to time in line with identified skills, competencies and experience

Sales

  • Contribute to design and maintenance of sales strategy.

  • Timely and accurate completion of work to achieve individual and team targets.

  • Provide measurable reports on sales pipeline and progress.

  • Achieve sales growth in line with targets as communicated by Sales Director from time to time through lead generation and follow up of sales leads and enquiries.

  • Maintain existing customer base and develop repeat customers.

  • Sales Experience: Minimum of 5 years preferred Technical Sales/Semiconductor industry

Management

  • Role model IES’s policies and procedures and motivate team members to adhere to company policies and legal regulations.

  • Oversee the work of the team, including allocating work and monitoring quality and productivity.

  • Approve holiday requests, ensuring that annual leave is effectively managed within the team to maintain sufficient cover.

  • Provide team members with continuous constructive feedback and support to facilitate development and improvement.

  • Address problems with work quality, issues between employees and other concerns e.g. attendance in an effective, timely manner, utilising support from HR to follow procedures where required.

  • Conduct performance reviews and appraisals.

  • Serve as a link between team members and the Senior Management team.

  • Communicate regularly, making effective use of a range of different communication methods.

  • Setting, managing and achieving company wide sales budget and forecasts.

Requirements

  • Experience working in semiconductor, pharma or other high technology manufacturing environments is advantageous

  • Exceptional organisational skills with very high attention to detail & strict confidentiality

  • High standard of written & verbal communication, with a confident & professional phone manner

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Customer-focused.

  • Comfortable working autonomously

  • Have a natural approach to sales.

  • Passion for achieving sales.

  • Technically minded.

  • Working and demonstrable understanding of industry/ customer standards and industry best practice.

  • Ability to use computers competently, including Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook with Dynamics being desirable

  • Ability to take responsibility for own continued professional development.

Renumeration & Benefits

Salary/Rate: Negotiable and dependent on experience

Basic Hours: Monday to Friday, 0900-1700hrs
