Rigger/Machine Mover

Job Title: Rigger/Machine Mover
Reporting to: Engineering Team Leader
Location: Head Office, plus site work locally & away as required

Basic Purpose

The Rigger/Machine Mover will specialise in moving and packing of equipment and machinery, predominantly in the hi-tech industry sector & in cleanroom environments. This role is about working closely in a team on the ground at various Customer sites of the Organisation.

The post holder will carry out all rigging and machinery movement functions on-site with a ‘hands-on’ approach to ensure the provision of a professional, timely and accurate process. The role will be field-based with travel to Customer sites.

Key Tasks

  • Safely & effectively moving machinery using forklifts, skates and jacks etc.
  • Working alongside colleagues in assembly, installation, disassembly & deinstallation of machines, tools & equipment.
  • Attending site on time and exceeding Company and Customers’ expectations.
  • Consistently demonstrating professional conduct representing IES, adhering to all Company policies & procedures at all times whilst representing IES, including but not limited to when travelling, at IES premises, on Customer sites & away.
  • Ensuring tools used are kept clean and in good working order, liaising with the applicable responsible person(s) to ensure timely repair & replacement, with provision of the correct equipment used for the tasks.
  • Ensuring work areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • Participating actively in safety and other training.
  • Ensuring compliance with airline security regulations.
  • Reporting damage & defects in machinery, tools & equipment in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Co-operating in workflows in accordance with schedule and deadlines.
  • Supporting training & development of colleagues, demonstrating best practice and providing peer-to-peer on the job training where opportunities are identified.
  • Safeguarding the health, safety & welfare of the Team.
  • May be required to complete other business activities on behalf of the Company from time to time in line with identified skills, competencies and experience.

Key Performance Indicators

In this role we expect:
  • Work areas are kept tidy and in an operational, efficient, functional state always.
  • Quality of records and paperwork (presentation, accuracy, timeliness and completeness) in line with Company expectations and high standards.
  • Completion of Customer, IES & industry requirements in full in an accurate and timely manner.
  • All activities are accordance with Customer, IES & industry specifications as appropriate.

Requirements

Training, Education & Experience

  • Machinery movement & mechanical engineering experience required.
  • Experience of power tools to ensure competent, safe use.
  • Current, valid B1 & B2 counterbalance forklift training (up to 15t capacity).
  • Current, valid B3 counterbalance forklift training (over 15t capacity) preferred.
  • Current, valid Air Cargo Security training (CO level is minimum requirement) for IES Head Office based personnel.

Special Working Conditions

  • Additional and/or unsociable hours may be necessary when required.
  • Early starts and late finishes are not uncommon.
  • Travel away from home and abroad required.

Renumeration & Benefits

Salary / Rate: Competitive and dependent on experience
Basic Hours: Monday to Friday, 0800-1630hrs

Overtime: 
Regularly available, paid at the following multipliers:

  • Weekdays 1x
  • Saturdays 1.5x
  • Sundays 2x
  • Bank Holidays 3x
